St. Peter's Basilica over the River Tiber // Rome, Italy

Description

St. Peter's Basilica (or Basilica di San Pietro in Italian)

is located in the Vatican City, an independent city-state enclaved within Rome.

It is the home of the Pope who is the head of the Catholic Church and due to

the height of its dome, it is visible no matter where you are in Rome.

Rome is in my opinion a very pedestrian friendly city so it’s

best to walk most places as long as you don’t have to travel too far. This

photograph looking at the Basilica was taken from one of the many bridges that

cross the River Tiber. In the foreground you can see St. Angelo Bridge, a pedestrian

footbridge built in 134 AD.
